ANNA S BARE - BIO 

Ann Countz, aka Anna Shellia Bare, is an artist, photographer, writer and world traveler. She has lived in three countries, South Korea, England and the United States. Born in Busan, South Korea, she has been driven to express herself through art from a young age. She paints with acrylics, oil pastels, colored pencil and watercolors. She uses whatever medium is available to create art to express what lives in her imagination. She often draws inspiration from the beauty she sees all around her. 

Although she studied art in college, she prefers painting without boundaries. She has an Associate of Arts (AA) Degree in fashion design and placed first place in the Foxy Lady design competition and LCL design competition in San Francisco, California, while attending Bauder Fashion College in the late 70’s and worked as an interior designer in the early 80’s.

She created mega sized Alice in Wonderland themed props for a big rave held at Cal Expo in Sacramento, California in 1999. Her art has been featured in numerous art exhibits in Central California, put on by the Central California Art League at Mistlin Gallery and the E & J Winery Juried Art Show in Modesto, California, as well as the Expressions Juried Art Exhibits put on by the Tracy Art League over a period of several years. One year, three of her paintings were featured in the E & J Winery Juried Art Show. One of the paintings placed second and one received an honorable mention. She was featured on Creative Friends, a private art group on Facebook in July, 2021 and again in February, 2024, as the featured artist of the month.

Ann is also an accomplished photographer. She is the official photographer for the Denison Art Gallery and Local First Texoma and has taken photos for Sparrows Gallery located in Denison, Texas. She likes to focus on ocean, lake and river scenes as well as water falls, Japanese gardens, special events, weddings and wildlife photography. She uses a Sony 6000 Mirrorless camera and a Canon ESO Rebel SLT.
